Azalées - Petit-Saconnex (GE)

The building “Les Azalées” is part of the retirement home complex of Petit-Saconnex. Steiner was commissioned to renovate the building in order to equip it with a new structure. The annex “Les Azalées” now offers optimal living conditions for 80 residents. The project selected by the client focuses on the integration of the building in the surrounding green area.

The objective of this project was to improve the thermal and energy performance of the building. In order to allow a possible heightening in the future, structural reinforcements have also been carried out.

This renovation made it possible to create 80 rooms for seniors and to redevelop all the collective spaces as well as administrative offices. Located in a residential area near the city centre, the Maison de Retraite du Petit-Saconnex is surrounded by a magnificent 6.5 hectare green park.
